Alley crew nailed the Qld titles first round, with

Peter Buckley winning the 0ver 55's

Mark "Richo' Richardson winning 0/35 and 40's and Grant Frost third place in the 40's.

Adam Leslie 4th and Jason Frost 5th in the o/35's

Jade Wheatley 5th Open Womens and 2nd U18 Girls

Ebony Wilson 2nd in the under 16 girls

What a result, out of about 20 Qld board rider clubs, at least 6 of our surfers may be chosen to represent Australia at the next world titles.

These spots are hotly contested and Surfing Qld only takes the best.

Good luck to the Alley Crew.

Flat rock camping/ training weekend was a great success thanks to

Malissa and Nate Horwood, Owen and Ado, looks like an annual event coming up.

The future of the club is assured with everyone having a good time and sharing some great waves.

This weekend is the club round, meet at the clubhouse at 7 am where Adam and the crew will decide the best place to hold the comp.

Texting of info is now up and running again, if you fail to get a message please call on 0405 512002 so we can rectify.

While we know it is difficult it would be great if we could have the same numbers turn up to support our comp surfers, we have the Sarcoma cup coming up at Palm Beach as well as the Coast of Origin all in June.

We need to let everyone know we are a strong club, not just in numbers but also in club spirit, even if you can come along for an hour or so it will be appreciated.

These comps are also a chance for the not so competitive surfers to be included.

You girls and guys are unbelievable, giving your weekend up

The club can now pay for a weekend away for the groms or training sessions.

CONTEST DATES

Back up days are used in the event of poor or overly large surf conditions and are called at the discretion of the contest director and assistants on the day.

While all efforts are made to keep the contests local, please note that all contests are mobile and may be held in the best surf conditions possible from Byron Bay to the Spit, once again at the discretion of the contest directors.

2013 competition dates to June.

Round 1 17 February.

Round 2 17th March

Back up date 24th March.

Round 3 Note now 26th May

Training Camp 17 and 18 th May.

No other contests in May due to the Alley Classic.

Round 4 2nd June

Back up date 9th June.

Round 5 TBA

There are changes to this years Open Club Championship;

1. All current financial members will be able to compete along with all Life Members regardless of how many events you have surfed throughout the year

2. The Open Club Championship round could be held at any of the proposed Club rounds.

We want to ensure we hold this major event in the best waves we can and the round could be called a few days prior or on the day!

With $500 prize money up for grabs please ensure that the club has your current contact details so you can be informed as soon as possible.
